Bangladesh's new head coach Russell Domingo on Tuesday backed his charges to beat Afghanistan in the one-off Test starting Thursday.
The one-off Test, which will commence on September 5, will not be a part of ICC World Test Championship.
Shadman said he has not lost confidence from his half-starts in New Zealand which saw him finish with scores of 27, 29, 24 and 37 in the two Tests.
From the line-up that faced Ireland earlier this year, Afghanistan have kept out five players including the suspended Mohammad Shahzad.
Tamim is now expected to return during the November tour in India
