According to sources Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid feel humiliated with the treatment meted out to them and they would not approach the board for clarity.
Reports have earlier suggested that Sachin Tendulkar was the only member from the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), who had pressed for Ravi Shastri's appointment as Team India's head coach.
Robin Singh has come out in support of Ravi Shastri, saying that the coaches should be given the freedom to choose their support staff and working partners.
"I to'ed and fro'ed. I had days where I thought, 'right, I'm definitely applying for it. I'm going to have a crack and see how far I get'. Other days where I wasn't so sure. In the end I just felt I wasn't quite ready for that opportunity." - Jason Gillespie
Erapalli Prasanna said he is "disappointed" with the CAC for dilly-dallying over choosing Ravi Shastri as the national cricket team's new coach.
Along with Ravi Shastri, Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan were also appointed as India's overseas batting consultant and bowling coach respectively.
The head coach position has been vacant since Anil Kumble's resignation following India's defeat against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final at the Oval on June 18.
"Now that they have made the choice, we sincerely feel that the new combination will steward the team to number 1 position in the World Cup," the COA added.
Ravi Shastri has been appointed as India head coach till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England.
Ravi Shastri edges past Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, and Tom Moody for the top judge.
