Mani, who previously represented the PCB at the ICC from 1989 to 1996, was officially elected today during the Board of Governors (BoG) meeting in Lahore.
The septuagenarian also said that getting the PSL started in 2016 was one of the biggest achievements in his tenure.
His term was to expire in 2020 but he gave in his papers one year prior following the election of former cricketer Imran Khan as prime minister last week
Mickey Arthur was initially contracted to serve till mid-2018. However, PCB extended his contract till the 2019 World Cup.
The PCB has also filed a compensation case with the ICC, saying that the BCCI has not honoured an MoU signed in 2014.
"We say it's a binding contract, let them decide whether it's a contract or not. We have challenged it."

It will be the first time that a PCB delegation will visit India since Sethi and former chairman of the board Shaharyar Khan flown to Mumbai in 2015.
The ICC meetings will also allow Pakistan and Indian board officials to look at existing relations.
Pakistan's cricket chiefs hope the country can host a full series by 2020, after a successful tour by the West Indies sparked hopes of an international revival.
