Akmal was found guilty of two charges under the PCB Anti-Corruption Code and on April 27, he was banned from cricket activities till February 2023.
Akmal had earlier escaped a PCB ban in February for allegedly making crude remarks to a trainer during a fitness test at the NCA in Lahore.
Raja had expressed his displeasure after Akmal was found guilty, saying it was such a waste of talent.
Malik said when the board could allow other guilty players to make a comeback, he should also be given the same opportunity.
