Mumbai Indians' jersey for the Women's Premier League's inaugural season has been revealed. Now that their women's team is in the WPL, the most successful franchise in the Indian Premier League would like to do the same in the Women's Premier League.
It was indeed a big day for Indian women’s cricket, as the first-ever player auction ahead of the 2023 Women’s Premier League recently concluded where all the five franchises finalized their squads.

The inaugural Women's Premier League is a huge step for women cricket in India. The player auction for the same will be held in Mumbai on Monday.
Indiawin Sports, backed by Reliance Industries, is the second-highest bidder in the women's IPL franchise acquisition at INR 912.99 crore. They will own the Mumbai-based franchise.
"The BCCI invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the title sponsorship rights for Women's Premier League Seasons 2023-2027," the Indian cricket board said in a statement.
As decided for the auction, all five franchises will have a price cap of INR 15 crore. Each team will be able to sign 15–18 players, of whom only five can be overseas players.
In the first season, a total of five teams will compete. The player's auction is likely to take place next month.
JSW and GMR Groups, co-owners of the Delhi Capitals, were among the five bidders who successfully won the rights to run the Delhi franchise for INR 810 crores.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, a well-known IPL franchise, won a bid of INR 901 crore on Wednesday to own a team in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WIPL), which will take place in March 2023.
