Mumbai: Mumbai’s Dakshata Patel and Sagarika Phadke made the main draw of Rs 13 lakh AITA Ranking Anirudh Desai JVPG Tennis Tournament on Monday. In the final qualifying round, Dakshata, seeded no. 2 in the preliminaries, got the better of AP’s Chikkala Sai Nikitha, winning 6-2 7-6 (5), while Sagarika defeated Gujarat’s Dharbhar Thakor 6-0 6-2. Joining the two in the main draw was their Maharashtra statemate Srishti Ray, who ousted Pragati Solankar 6-1 6-2, also from the host state, at the suburban Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana’s courts. The main draw matches commence on Monday.
