Johannesburg: World number two Andy Murray has set up a mouth-watering semifinal clash against defending champion Stan Wawrinka after trouncing ninth seed Richard Gasquet in the French Open quarterfinal contest in Paris. After losing the opening set, Murray bounced back in style and won the tie-break in the second set before claiming 12 of the next 14 games in his 5-7, 7-6 (7/3), 6-0, 6-2 win over the Frenchman, Sport24 reported. Although Murray leads Wawrinka by 8-7 in their head-to-head record, the Swiss maestro holds a slender advantage due to his victory in their last three meetings and both of their matches on clay. In 2015, Wawrinka had crushed world number one Novak Djokovic’s hopes of completing a career Grand Slam after winning the pulsating finale.
