The World Cup made a return to Old Blighty after a gap of 16 years. And what a return it was! The World Cup saw Australia emulating West Indies in becoming the second country to win the tournament twice. It will always be remembered for the nail biting semi-final match between Australia and South Africa. The World Cup was lit by some amazing performances from established stars like Rahul Dravid, Steve Waugh, Shane Warne, Lance Klusener to Geoff Allott and unknown Neil Johnson while Bangladesh’s defeat of Pakistan provided with a shock of the tournament.
