Adam Lyth says it was fantastic feeling to have scored is maiden Test ton against New Zealand on Day Two of the Second Test at his home ground at Headingley. Lyth put on 177 runs for the opening wicket with his skipper Alastair Cook, who became England’s leading run-getter, surpassing Graham Gooch’s long standing record. Lyth also lamented on the fact that he could not score many runs in his debut at Lord’s. He went on to state that he felt more nervous batting at Headingley than Lord’s. He hopes that the unbeaten batsmen Ian Bell and wicket keeper Jos Buttler get England past New Zealand’s total of 350 by Lunch on Day Three.
