Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman who surprised everyone last year when he announced his retirement from international cricket said it was the right decision.

Laxman also said it was a chance for the young players to establish themselves in the international arena.

After the introduction of the T20 format in the past few years, it has become evident that the Test format is now in danger of fading away with more and more nations taking to the shorter and much exciting format of T20.

But the former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman stressed the need for youngsters to take Test cricket seriously and he applauded the efforts of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for helping Test cricket regain its lost glory.
