Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard had come to Sydney on the third day to watch the third Test match between Australia and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka reached a score of 225 with the loss of seven wickets, taking a lead of 87 runs against Australia on Day Three of the third and final Test at Sydney.

Earlier, after a scintillating century from Australia’s Matthew Wade that gave Australia a lead of 135 runs, Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunanatne and Mahela Jayawardene showed great resolve to take Sri Lanka just eight runs short of the Australia total at Tea on Day Three of the Sydney Test.
