Glenn Maxwell slammed a quickfire 51 not out and Mitchell Starc bagged five-for as Australia mauled the West Indies by nine wickets in the first One-Day Internaitonal at the WACA in Perth on Friday.

After bowling out the tourists for a paltry 70 in the first innings, Australia chased down the target in overs, at the loss of wicket.

Maxwell swatted boundaries and sixes to reach an unbeaten off balls, guiding Australia to a comprehensive win.

Earlier, Mitchell Starc led Australia as the home side produced a sensational bowling display to skittle out the West Indies for 70, their third-ever lowest total.
