Australia openers Matthew Wade and Warner didn’t allow Sri Lanka bowlers to capitalise and scored freely to give Australia a solid start. Wade and Warner added 136 runs for the first wicket, which set a good platform for Australia to set a huge target.

Warner slammed 163 off 157 balls hitting 13 boundaries and two sixes, and his knock ended on the last ball of the Australian innings when he was bowled by Dhammika Prasad.

Michael Hussey remained unbeaten on 19 off 10 balls, hitting two sixes.

Dhammika Prasad bagged two wickets for 51 runs off his seven overs, whereas Tillakaratne Dilshan managed to hold back Australian batsmen, giving away just 35 runs off nine overs.
