Ben Stokes, the Durham all-rounder said winning the County Championship is a special moment. Durham won the coveted championship after defeating Nottinghamshire by eight wickets. This win gives them a lead which has assured them of the title.

Durham needed 62 to win on the final day of the match. They achieved the title easily when the play finally began at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Durham has had a tough time throughout the season. The season began with Durham head coach suffering a heart attack. They had been docked 2.5 points for breaking the salary cap rule.
