A video of Bhartiya Janta Party president Nitin Gadkari congratulating batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar after his oath-taking ceremony for the Rajya Sabha.

“Sachin Tendulkar has taken oath today. Sachin is from Mumbai. I know him. I give him all my good wishes…. He has been nominated. It is a good thing and I welcome him,” Gadkari was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Tendulkar is the fourth international cricketer now in the Indian parliament.

But unlike him, the other three are in the Lok Sabha: Mohammad Azharuddin (Moradabad), Navjot Singh Sidhu (Amritsar) and Kirti Azad (Darbhanga).

Tendulkar is the first cricketer to enter parliament while still playing the game.
