Australia coach Darren Lehmann says that all his players had a decent work out in the three-day practice match ahead of the first Test against West Indies, but says that the selectors will take a late call on the playing XI of the team. Lehmann said that he will first analyse the pitch and take a call accordingly. READ: Josh Hazlewood stars on Day 1 of warm-up tie vs WICB President’s XI

“It’s going to have to be a late call. I’d love to give you the side earlier but it’s going to have to be a late call because this pitch here changed quite a lot in the 24 hours leading up to the tour game. So it’s going to be a really tight call either way we go,” Lehmann said.

Quizzed about the exclusion of West Indies star batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Lehmann feels that Chanderpaul has had an excellent career, but it was the West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) decision and not his. Lehmann went on to say that his exclusion will not change their plans in the series. READ: Shivnarine Chanderpaul misses out as West Indies announce squad for Test series against Australia
