Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel captain Dwayne Bravo has commented on his friendly rivalry with fellow West Indian teammates Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle.

In an interview posted on CPL’s Youtube channel, Bravo remarks how the competition with Pollard does not affect their friendship. The Trinidadians, who have also played together for Mumbai Indians in the 2010 season, are compared with each other over similar batting styles, which is that of pinch-hitting. The duo are also remembered for a friendly  and humorous exchange between them

Talking about Gayle, Bravo remarked that he is one of the best batsman in the world. “It is always a challenge for me when I am up against Gayle. But I do not feel bad when he whacks my delivery, as he does it everyday to a variety of bowlers. I enjoy the challenge and the competition, but we all retain mutual respect for each other at the end of the day,” said Bravo.

Bravo has currently led his side to four wins in five games, with the skipper himself posting a half-century in their win over the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The Red Steels currently sit at the top of the points table and are expected to be the first team to seal a spot in semis.
