Heavy rains and landslides in Uttarakhand have not only affected the common man of the regions but to thousands of pilgrims who went to seek the divine blessings of Hemkunth Sahib Gurudwara. Indian turbanator Harbhajan Singh was also one of the pilgrims who was stuck due to bad weather. Harbhajan who is now safe thanks jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for saving his life.

Harbhajan lauded the rescue operations conducted by the ITBP personnel at Joshimath. Harbhajan had taken shelter with the ITBP troops since yesterday. The cricketer, who was returning from the Hemkunth Sahib Gurudwara, could not go beyond because of the inclement weather.

Thirty-four persons have lost their lives in different parts of Uttarakhand so far.
