New Zealand reached 67 for two at lunch on Day Three of second Test after bowling out England for 354 on Sunday.
Resuming from their overnight score of 337, England failed to capitalise and move towards a dominating first innings total. Tim Southee bagged the most important scalp in the second over of the day by removing Matt Prior. Similar to most of Southee’s victims, Prior went for an expansive drive to a pitched up delivery outside off stump only to be caught in the slips by Ross Taylor.
Trent Boult didn’t waste much time cleaning up the tail as he scalped two wickets in an over to bowl England out. This was Boult’s second five-wicket haul of his Test career.
