Fast bowler Mitchell Starc gave a slight glimpse into the pace that will be in store for the Indian batsmen on Tuesday when he was sending down rippers during Australia’s training session at Adelaide ahead of the first Test.

Starc, who will leading Australia’s pace troika of Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, caused a slight injury scare when one of his deliveries – a bouncer – hit opener Aaron Finch on his right hand. Finch was assessed by the Australian team doctor, but was cleared to continue batting soon after.

Starc, who has played 45 Tests, has snapped 186 wickets. He last played a Test against South Africa in Cape Town where the infamous ball-tampering scandal led to the suspension of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft. Starc returned with two wickets.
