The Indian cricket team underwent a rigorous net session on Tuesday ahead of the mouth-watering first Test against Australia beginning on Thursday. Under the watchful eyes of head coach Ravi Shastri, Virat Kohli unleashed a wide range of shots receiving deliveries from throwdown specialist Raghu. Premier off-spinner Ravichanran Ashwin was also seen bowling to Kohli.

Kohli, who scored a jaw-dropping 692 runs in four matches, laced with four hundreds on the previous tour of Australia, looked in great as he was middling the ball cleanly. The swashbuckling batsman then sweated in out on the field with some fielding practice.

Among the bowlers, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah grinded in out in the nets with Shastri keeping a close eye on the youngster. Bumrah, who will be an important cog in the pace attack led by Mohammed Shami, was also seen in an animated chat with bowling coach Bharat Arun.

India enter the four-match Test series against an inexperienced Australian side as favourties and have a chance of scripting a historic series win Down Under for the first time since a newly independent India tour Australia in 1947.
