India’s volcanically talented opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s fifth One-Day International hundred  in his 28th innings of his career against the touring West Indies at Kanpur, equalled Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga's world record. Both of them now share the record for taking least number of innings to essay their first five hundreds in ODIs. He also became only the second cricketer to hit 20 fours in an innings.

In addition to it, Dhawan's tally of six international centuries this year is the highest by any cricketer this year. It has been a truly remarkable and amazing year for the southpaw from Delhi.
