Yuvraj Singh became the most high-profile signing in the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auctions when he was snapped up by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a staggering price of INR 14 crores.

 

Yuvraj whose base price was INR 2 crores was the highest amongst the first list of marquee players and the most expensive one at that.

 

Other big buys during the IPL auctions involved Kevin Pietersen (INR 9 crores; Delhi Daredevils), Mitchell Johnson (INR 6.50 crores; Kings XI Punjab), Virender Sehwag (INR 3.20 crores; Kings XI Punjab), David Warner (INR 5.50 crores; Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Murali Vijay (INR 5 crores; Delhi Daredevils).
