Dravid, a veteran of 164 Tests and 344 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) said he had a wonderful time playing for the Indian team, and now the time was right to pass the baton to young cricketers.

He said,” I could never have imagined a journey so long and so fulfilling. I have had a wonderful time, but now it is time for a new generation of young players to make their own history and take the Indian cricket team even further.”

Accompanying Dravid in the conference were Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President N Srinivasan and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President and former team-mate Anil Kumble who paid rich tributes to Dravid.
