Former England batsman Mark Ramprakash talks about his role as the national team’s batting coach. Ramprakash, who’s had prior experience with England’s various performance squads and briefly worked as batting consultant with the senior team has jumped the ladder by virtue of being appointed England’s batting coach, as was posted on the official England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) website. The first assignment that awaits him is England’s tour of Sri Lanka later this month.

Ramprakash hopes to bring the knowledge and experience he has attained with the England performance squads to the fore and is excited by the challenges ahead. “I am hugely excited to have been appointed England batting coach and am looking forward to building on the relationships I have established during the summer. I will draw on my 25 years of experience as a cricketer but also am open to learning all the time. I feel we have a very exciting group of players and am relishing the opportunity to continue working with them.”
