Former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels that England were outplayed by Australia in the first Ashes 2013-14 Test match at Brisbane.

He said England’s batting failed on a decent wicket where Mitchell Johnson bowled extremely well.

He said, “England’s batting was consistent, consistently poor. It was a decent wicket. The pitch had a little bit of pace and a little bit of spin. There was nothing really, except a bit of pace by Mitchell Johnson. He was well-supported by Ryan Harris and Peter Siddle. Nathan Lyon too bowled well.”

“Johnson was outstanding. Australia outclassed England, outplayed England and deserved to win the match,” Vaughan added.
