Shane Watson said he felt privileged to lead Australia, even if it was in a tour match. The Australians drew their last tour match against England Lions on Saturday at Northampton.

The Lions declared at 269 for seven overnight and the Australians only managed 277 for six on a rain-curtailed Day Two of the two-day tour match. Watson, leading the Australians in place of the rested Michael Clarke, top-scored with 45.

Matthew Wade (38 not out) and James Faulkner (29 not out) were at the crease at tea when rain stopped play. David Warner (35) and Phil Hughes (30) also got amongst the runs. No Australian batsman scored a half-century.

The fifth and final Ashes 2013 Test starts on August 21 at The Oval. Australia trail England 3-0.
