Sussex took a slender two-run lead over Australia after James Taylor scored 121 to vindicate his selection for the third Test in Manchester. Sussex reached their 100 overs and it was turn of the visitors to bat again.

Ed Cowan scored his second half-century of the match. He scored unbeaten 77 in the second innings. Lewis Hatchett was pick of the bowlers who got two wickets – Usman Khawaja for one and Phil Hughes for 38.

Jackson Bird picked up two wickets while Cowan stood out scoring two half-centuries. Australia have not gained much from the match and the selection conundrums remain.
