England and Australia's Women are currently battling it out in the Women's Ashes. After the Test match between them was drawn, they are now playing the One-Day International (ODI) series. The first ODI at Lord's was won by Australian Women by a margin of 27 runs.

After electing to bat first, opener Meg Lanning gave Australia a good start with an innings of 56. Other cameos helped Australia reach 203 for eight in their 50 overs. Katherine Brunt was the top wicket-taker for England with figures of three for 29.

England's captain Charlotte Edwards scored 61, but it wasn't enough as the others did not contribute. Eventually, they were bowled out for 176 with Jess Jonassen taking four for 38. Erin Osborne chipped in with three for 39.
