England beat Australia by 27 runs to win the second Twenty20 International and level the series 1-1 at Chester-le-Street on Saturday.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. England posted a big total of 195 for five with Alex Hales top-scoring with 94 off 61 balls. Michael Lumb scored 43 off 27 balls. Fawad Ahmed took three wickets for 25 runs. James Faulkner took two wickets for 37 runs.

In reply, Australia could only manage 168 for nine. David Warner top-scored with 53 off 42 balls. Jade Dernbach was the pick of the bowlers for England as he took three wickets for 23 runs. Danny Briggs took two wickets for 25 runs.
