Australia pacer Jackson Bird was happy with his performance on Day Two of the tour match against Sussex on Saturday.

Talking about his performance, Bird said, “It was a good day for me personally. The contraol [with the ball] was good.”

Bird impressed with the ball picking up the wickets of openers Chris Nash and Luke Wells for just 33 runs.
Sussex ended the day at 228 for 5, still trailing Australia by 138 runs.

Talking about his injury, Bird said he wasn’t expecting to return to full fitness before the Ashes series.
