Sri Lanka won the second One-Day International (ODI) against Pakistan at Hambantota on Friday, to level the three-match series 1-1.

The hosts posted a total of 310 in their 50 overs, with Angelo Mathews being the top-scorer with 93 runs. Mahela Jayawardene too chipped in with 67.

Pakistan failed to repeat the heroics of the first ODI, and folded for just 233. Sohaib Maqsood, who had scored a century in the first match, scored just nine runs before falling to Rangana Herath. Ahmed Shahzad and Mohammad Hafeez had combined well to form a significant second wicket partnership, but the rest of the team failed to step up to the occasion.

Thisara Perera was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his all-round contribution. Perera scored 65, and took three wickets for 19 runs in the match.
