During the third day s play in the ongoing fifth Test between India and England, KL Rahul was seen getting miffed with England s Joe Root. England skipper Alastair Cook called in his deputy to bowl the 80th over of the Indian innings, a move made in desperation to find a breakthrough. India had Rahul and Karun Nair batting on 146 and 25 respectively at that time. It was during the last ball of the over when Root tossed up a delivery which Rahul punched back to the bowler. Root threw the ball back towards Rahul, who had to duck while wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow took the ball over his left shoulder. Root immediately put up a hand in apology but there was a heated discussion between the England cricketer and Rahul.

Root was quick to apologise for his mistake but what appeared to be thrown back to the batsman in frustration, a miffed Rahul exchanged some words with Root. The England cricketer was also seen agitated with the way Rahul reacted despite his apology. The next over from Root saw Rahul scoring his second 150 of his career. But the two young cricketers decided to move on, as both Rahul and Root were seen shaking hands and putting an end to the heated conversation.
