Australia will miss the services of regular captain Micheal Clarke, who has been ruled out of Friday’s game against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury. The captain suffered a mild strain in their last match against India.

Former captain Ricky Ponting will be leading the side in Clarke’s absence. Doubts regarding Australian pacer Brett Lee’s fitness continue to linger, but Ponting said that the decision has not been taken yet.

However, the stand-in skipper is optimistic about Lee’s return, which will add to the team’s battery of pacers.
