Ricky Ponting and Ben Hilfenhaus came back into the limelight.

While Hilfenhaus picked up five wickets in the first innings, wrapping up the Indian batting for 282, Ricky Ponting scored another half-century.

Along with Michael Hussey, Ponting saved the Australian second innings after they were 27 for 4 at one point.

Ponting responded solidly with his bat in both the innings of the match.

“When I got out, we lost a couple of wickets on top of that. Tomorrow morning is going to be really crucial for us now. We need Mike Hussey (unbeaten on 79) now to go on and get a big score,” he added.
