After guiding Mumbai Indians to their second Champions League T20 title, skipper Rohit Sharma said he is ready to open innings in all three formats of the game and that he has been waiting for the opportunity for the last six years.

The rise of Rohit Sharma coincided with the building of the brand called the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was roped in by the Deccan Chargers for whom he was the premier batsman. Sharma was part of the victorious Deccan side that lifted the IPL 2009 title in South Africa.

However, he has been inconsistent and has failed to cement his spot in the national team since years. But 2013 has been an excellent year as he has performed well as an opener alongside Shikhar Dhawan.
