Sachin Tendulkar recounts childhood cricket debut and scoring his first-ever run

“Our coach used to arrange a lot of practice matches. He believed that batting in practice matches develops your match temperament. It was the first match of my life, I had called all my friends to watch me bat but got out at the first ball. In the second match too, I called them and got out at the first ball again. For the third time, I decided to go alone and ended up scoring one run. The bus journey back home was a pleasant one that day because of the one run. That day I realised the importance of one single run,” said Sachin Tendulkar.
