Herath, who took over Test reins from Angelo Mathews in his absence on the tour of Zimbabwe was hailed by Jayasuriya as one of the best bowlers to ever step foot in the cricket arena. Jayasuriya also spoke the risks involved in naming Herath as the interim captain of the side. As a chairman of selection committee in Sri Lankan Cricket Board, Jayasuriya was happy that his chance paid off and Herath came back with a thumping series victory against Zimbabwe.

Jayasuriya was invited to launch the book, A Tall Order which is written by Kapil Pathare.
