England batsman James Taylor spoke about his his maiden One-Day International (ODI) half-century, that helped England win the fifth one-dayer against Sri Lanka to bring the series to 3-2 in the latter’s favour. Taylor struck a fluent 68 from 90 balls, including five fours and a six, to help his side recover from a couple of early blows, to prevent the Sri Lankans from clinching the series.

The star of the run-chase was Joe Root, who completed his third ODI century in the process. The duo of Root and Taylor added 104 runs for the third-wicket. England ultimately reached home with five balls to spare. The English innings was played a day after the Sri Lankan innings due to rain spoiling the proceedings on the previous day.
