Chris Rogers' century went in vain as Australia lost the match and conceded the series as well.

Chris Rogers officially announced his retirement from Tests earlier on Tuesday and there have been tributes pouring in from all around the world. Rogers will play his 25th and final Test against England at The Oval in the fifth Ashes 2015 series. Coincidentally, Rogers scored his maiden ton against England too, but it came at Chester-le-Street in Durham. Rogers made 110, to help his side to 270 and helped Australia secured a lead of 32 in the process. He had many lucky escapes along the way but he made full use of it as he went on to score a vital ton for hiss side.  But nobody other than Shane Watson supported him in that innings and as a result, Australia could not cash in Rogers’ century. Rogers and his opening partner David Warner put on over 100 runs  for the opening wicket and Australia looked set to chase down the target of 299 set by England. But the middle-order did not step up and collapsed as a result of which England won the match by 74 runs and took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series with one match to play. Rogers had a golden period when he scored eight fifties in a row between December 2014 to July 2015. He managed to score an unbeaten century in the second Ashes 2015 at Lord’s.
