South African opener Quinton de Kock, who is just six Test matches old, was dropped from the second Test squad against Bangladesh that made way for the 30-year old Dane Vilas to finally make his Test debut for the Proteas. Before the start of the match at Mirpur’s Shere Bangla National Stadium, skipper Hashim Amla suggested that though Quinton is talented, Vilas’s success in the domestic leagues cannot be neglected. The third day of the second and final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa on Saturday at Dhaka got off to a delayed start due to rain, the possibility of the day’s play being called off very much possible like the second day was after it had rained continuously for 14 hours.
