David Miller had shot to limelight with a 38-ball ton for Kings XI Punjab against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Until then, he had played a handful of One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20Is for South Africa, but had not quite made an impact. But, in that tall run-chase, his ton highlighted his potential and raised his cricketing stakes. Miller made his international debut for South Africa at the age of 20 during a Twenty20 International against the West Indies in 2010. In the lead-up to the 2011 World Cup, he was allowance a few ODIs but couldn’t make it to the squad for the marquee event. In 2014, Miller was one of the two players retained by Kings XI Punjab ahead of the season. He remains a crucial component of their exciting batting line-up.
