South Africa showed great determination to draw the second Test match of the series against Australia at Adelaide on Monday.

Faf du Plessis scored his first test century as he was resolute with his batting. He was ably supported by AB de Villiers and Jacques Kallis.

De Villliers played an uncharacteristic knock as he scored only 33 runs from 220 deliveries at an average of 15. Kallis, who was suffering from hamstring injury, played with grit adding a valuable partnership of 99 with du plessis for the sixth wicket.
