Kenya had a fairy-tale run in the ICC World Cup 2003 and did amazingly well to reach the semi-fanal stage of the tournament. But then they faced India and were unable to overwhelm the giants. Sourav Ganguly, the Indian skipper scored an unbeaten 111 in the match, taking India to a dominating total of 270.

Kenya only managed 179 in response. Even for Kenya, their captain ended top scorer with Steve Tikolo posting 56 runs before he was bowled by Sachin Tendulkar. Zaheer Khan picked three wickets in the match to impede Kenya.

Kenya were phenomenal in the tournament, and they even beat Sri Lanka. For a minnow to reach the semi-finals was a really commendable feat. India also excelled in the 2003 World Cup winning all their match except the ones against Australia, including the final.
