After the horrendous performance against India in the first Test, Sri Lanka‘s stand-in skipper Rangana Herath spoke about his team’s showing. He claimed that Indian cricket team outplayed them in all departments and remained ahead throughout the course of the game. Herath, captaining in absence of regular skipper Dinesh Chandimal, did not bat in the second innings and also opened up on that front. He stated that there was swelling but he should be on the road to recovery as reports did not show anything serious. Nonetheless, the 40-year-old stated that missing Asela Gunaratne due to injury pushed the hosts on the back-foot with the kind of form he is in.
