India‘s skipper, Virat Kohli, praised his side after an emphatic 304-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first of the three-match Test series. In the post-match conference, Kohli complimented his bowlers for persisting with their plans for long and forcing the opposition to make mistakes at crucial juncture of play. Kohli also spoke on his own form, which was poor coming into this series, but silenced his critics by slamming his 17th hundred during the second innings. The 28-year-old stated that he was not bothered by his lean phase and just wanted to do well for the team. In addition, he stated that his side can still improve in some stages and will work on them in the next two games.
