Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli was seen spending time with his young fans outside the stadium in Dharamshala prior to the commencement of the Twenty20 International (T20I) and One-Day International (ODI) series against South Africa early in October. He was seen signing autographs for the excited kids who had visited the stadium during the Indian cricket team’s net sessions with a smile on his face. The three-match T20I series ended in the favour of the visitors as they won the first two games with the final one getting abandoned at Eden Gardens due to rain. Meanwhile, the hosts faced disappointment in the ODI series as well as AB de Villiers men thoroughly dominated, winning the five-match series 3-2. South African cricket team arrived at Chandigarh to play the opening cricket Test match against India to be held from November 5-9 at the I S Bindra PCA stadium at Mohali on Monday. Amid tight security arrangements, the team members led by Test skipper Hashim Amla checked into their five-star hotel here. While the Indian team is scheduled to reach on Monday, the visitors will be getting the first taste of the conditions with a morning practice session at the PCA stadium.

South Africa played a warm-up game against a Board’s President XI at Mumbai where their fast bowlers did well but the batting, with the exception of AB de Villiers, was largely disappointing. De Villiers scored a hundred continuing in his rich vein of form to ensure his side got the first innings lead by a slender five-run margin. South Africa will want to be more steady when the Tests begin.
