South Africa’s Twenty20 International (T20I) skipper Faf du Plessis suggested that their bowling attack against India in the ongoing series has been the best-ever in the recent times and that set the foundation of the incredible victory. The visitors thrashed India in the second T20I in Cuttack by six-wickets and thereby sealing the three-match series 2-0 with the final game scheduled for Thursday. “I think possibly it’s the best bowling performance I’ve seen ever in T20Is. It was amazing to see all bowlers fantastic. To beat India 2-0 in India is a huge achievement and we are truly proud of that,” Du Plessis said in the post match news conference.  Cricket Scorecard: India vs South Africa 2nd T20I at Cuttack

“It was not the plan leading up to the week, but it happened through the game. I thought of using Immy [Tahir] upfront. He had not bowled in the powerplay, but I thought changing things up, trying to be unpredictable so that the batsmen can’t predict what they want to do. There was great variation in that first six overs, there was spin and pace, and then we got wickets. Obviously, there were two key run outs, but getting wickets upfront is key always. Our bowlers did that always. Once again it was a great bowling performance. To knock the runs off quite clinically was also important,” du Pleassis further added.

MS Dhoni suggested that the incident at the Barabati Stadium during the second International (T20I) should not be taken seriously. “It was just a reaction of the crowd because we didn’t play well and you know at times we do get reactions like these. It’s only the first bottle you know after that they start throwing it for fun, so we must not take too much into it. I still remember we play in Vizag once and we won the game very easily and that time also a lot of bottles were thrown,” the Indian limited-overs skipper said. PHOTO: Faf du Plessis celebrates T20I series win against India with teammates
