The walk showed the relief and anxiety currently gripping flamboyant left-hander Yuvraj Singh's heart as he was named in the national side for the Twenty20 World Cup to be played in Sri Lanka next month.

Yuvraj made his feelings clear, when he admitted that it was like playing for India for the first time.

Yuvraj thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian selectors for keeping faith in him.

He said,” Specially BCCI and selectors for showing their faith in me, my friends and family, my fans and the media! It’s a special day for me.”

The cricketer said he was always confident of wearing the Indian jersey again despite being treated for cancer.

“When I was diagnosed with cancer I always thought in my heart that one day I will come back and play for India,” Yuvraj said.
