All right, this is the most startling secret to come out from Indian dressing room and this shows that Indian opener Rohit Sharma is a complete team man. As it happened, the team management and players were in a meeting thinking about the losses versus South Africa in this series and they found a common pattern.
Whenever Rohit Sharma has played a good knock this series, India has lost the match. He scored a 100 in the first T20, India lost. He scored a hundred in first ODI, team lost and he scored a half century in 3rd ODI, India lost again. The only game that India won was in Indore and it was when Rohit failed.
Based on this they have requested Rohit to underperform in the next game, which will dramatically boost India’s chances of winning the game and being a team player, Rohit has willingly agreed to be the sacrificial lamb. Few even reckon this decision by Rohit for the upcoming game has already won the hearts of many important members in the team management including Ravi Shastri who promised that he will push the matter about Rohit’s captaincy forward as Virat Kohli is already underperforming.
However, the stats man, Mohandas Menon informed Rohit that the team had won all the games in which Rohit had scored a double century. This has reportedly motivated Rohit Sharma to take a vow that he will either score a double or nothing. Talented that Rohit is, underperforming too comes naturally to him and that’s something he has done a lot in his career.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who is an engineering graduate has given Rohit a new nickname, ‘photon’ because just like photon, Rohit believes in giving all or nothing!!
Please note this is a humour article — work of pure fiction
